My boy is a boy's boy. He loves trucks and cars so much that he sleeps with them pressed hard into his face. He is full of physical energy and gets grubby by just looking at dirt. He is honest and open and emotional. He is my favourite little guy, I love him so much.
Casper's language development has always been on the slow side. But this Summer, he has gone from being completely monosyllabic to speaking in almost sentences. And yesterday (after some prompting) he said "I lub ooo" and it was the best moment. I got these little flutters in my heart and I had to kiss him over and over again on his beautiful golden head.
Oh that is so so sweet. Those first words are now documented and always remembered. What a lucky boy!
ReplyDeleteDear sweet mama you are...xxx

aww, such a sweet moment in time, like the first smile. and the best thing is, the feeling it evokes never fades no matter how many times he tells you x
ReplyDeletethose are the most beautiful words a mother can hear, for sure. =) beautiful, darling boy!!
ReplyDeleteOh I can't wait to hear my daughter say she loves me. Must be such an amazing moment after months/years of saying it to them to hear it back!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to teach Toddler C how to say I love you...but so far nothing!
I can only imagine how my heart will burst when he utters those words!
And I love how you described him as getting grubby just looking at dirt!
Oh he is gorgeous. Enjoy every minute of these early days of speech. Pretty soon you will be driving in the car and he will say "mama, this music is a little bit groovy" like my boy did at two. And mine loves machines and dirt too, but now he has moved onto sleeping with his lego ideas book instead. mel x
ReplyDeleteOh that is so, so sweet Ruby! Love these pictures of Casper in his overalls, playing in the dirt! He looks like he is having the best time!
ReplyDeleteMy son's language development has been slow too. He can say words & recite his ABC's and even know which letters are what, but sentences? He won't do it. My kiddo loves cars too. Casper is an adorable boy & I love his big blue eyes <3
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh. How amazing. There's nothing sweeter than hearing those words from the person you created. Totally heart melting.
ReplyDeleteSuch a precious sentence...may there be many more!!
ReplyDeleteI can remember worrying about my son's speech (so much slower than his sisters) and now I worry that he will never be quiet again.
Mine sleeps with cars too

Adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! What a cutie! I have a very special place in my heart for grubby little boys (I'd better, with three of them!) so I know just what you mean! They are always so dirty, no matter what!
ReplyDeleteI love how you dress this child. He is a beautiful boy. Also, your portrait of him is just amazing!!!
